My Thoughts!
ReplyDeleteThis bill will help me because I can go to college and still be insured. I was very scared to go off and not be insured. The college I am attending says that I have to have insurance and if I couldn’t be insured under my parents there would be no way I could afford it on my own.
I don’t completely understand the new health care plan, like anyone else, but it makes me mad that I’m paying all these taxes that goes to medicare, which I don’t have a choice in, and when I reach the age of needing help paying for a nursing home I don’t get that money I paid in. I want to help this generation’s seniors, but I would like to have help when I become an elderly person too.
I think that the whole abortion thing is good, but I don’t think it’s fair that they are taking away the privilege of people being able to afford abortions. Most people, from what I see, don’t have the money to take care of the baby so therefore they won’t have the money to pay for the abortion. I think what they are thinking is that because they don’t have money they cannot care for the child and they cannot carry the child and pay for all the medical bills to give it up for adoption. I believe that will affect people that are too poor to pay even just the medical bills they need let alone pregnancy bills or an abortion.
My thoughts are all over on this. I’m not sure if I should think it’s good or bad. I think I will just wait until I see it actually in action affecting people. Maybe we are all worrying about nothing. Maybe it will turn out to be a very good thing and help many people in need as well as helping the people that already have insurance.
This health care bill does not affect me much right now. I don’t need health insurance because my parents have me covered because they are teachers. When I get older, however, I might need to have health care if I don’t get a very good job. If I work for a big enough company, then I will get to have health care without having to worry about shopping around. If I do have a good paying job with benefits, then this bill will have little to no effect on me.
ReplyDeleteI think this will help people who can't get health insurance because of previous events, but have the funds to do so. Although it will help those people, I don't understand how the government can force a business to provide insurance. That upsets the idea of free enterprise. It seems like another major step toward a more communist government.
I think that it will help in a way but maybe not in another way within the older population. It will help college students that are allowed to go to school full time, and still be full coverage on their parents insurance. Im planning on going to Mercy full time, so it will help me a lot by being put on my moms insurance till i am 26. The health care bill will create problems for the poor who can not afford health insurance, and also people who need to pay for medical bills that may not be able to be fully covered by the health care bill could end up in big trouble by not being able to afford it. things are so expensive already, and adding health insurance on top of it, may not help people.
ReplyDeleteBut i do believe it will help college students the most!
This bill has taught me more about our country and its problems than health care reform. It brought up many different topics that have kind of gone under the radar to this point. It showed the severity of our homeless problem, the lack of healthcare amongst our general population, and the lack of leadership in health care. This bill does effect me though. After I get out of college I will be able to be covered by my parents until the age 26. This will be a huge help because that will be one less thing for me to worry about when I’m trying to settle in and find a job. However, when it is time for me to decide on what healthcare I want, there will be less choices. I am happy to see that some of the lower class of society will be receiving coverage and it could help with our homeless problem. Of course, with everything in our country, people will exploit this and use it to their advantage. Overall, I am happy with the movement of this bill and I am glad our government is taking positive steps toward a better future.
